Barack Obama continues to be dogged by claims that he is misleading people about his past opposition to a bill in the Illinois legislature protecting babies who survived late-term abortions.
New audio reveals that while arguing against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act (BAIPA) in the Illinois Senate in 2002, state lawmaker Obama suggested two doctors tending to a baby who survived a botched abortion would be too much of a burden to the child's mother. "And that essentially adding an additional doctor -- who then has to be called in an emergency situation to come in and make these assessments -- is really designed simply to burden the original decision of the woman and the physician to induce labor and perform an abortion," he stated. Jill Stanek is an Illinois pro-life activist and columnist who has written extensively about Obama's record on abortion. She says the Democratic presidential hopeful "definitely does not have one iota of concern" for the baby. "He only cares about the doctors, making sure they get enough sleep -- and the mom, making sure that even though her pregnancy is terminated, that she can have the dead baby that she wanted," says Stanek. "So that's apparently his goal with abortion."

Obama has claimed that he opposed the Illinois infant protection bill because it threatened Roe v. Wade and that he would have supported it if it had included language identical to the federal bill. However, the bill did contain language identical to the federal measure -- and Obama still opposed it. Last week the pro-life group National Right to Life produced legislative records it claimed proved Obama had "blatantly misrepresented" his opposition to BAIPA. After Senator Obama returned from his Hawaiian vacation, his campaign finally admitted the two bills contained identical language. Stanek says Obama owes her and National Right to Life an apology for accusing them of lying about his record. "He misrepresented for four years the fact that he had voted the way that he did," she says. "As recently as Saturday night, he was denying that what was true was true." Columnist Brian Fitzpatrick notes that major media outlets have virtually ignored the fact that the Obama campaign admitted he has misled the public on the matter since 2004.
Muslim Father Kills Daughter for Converting to Christianity in Saudi Arabia
Washington, D.C. (ICC) -- The Washington-DC based human rights group, International Christian Concern (ICC) www.persecution.org has learned that a Saudi Arabian man cut out the tongue of his daughter and burned her to death after finding out that she had converted to Christianity. The girl came to know about Jesus Christ through the internet, according to Gulf News. Her father found about her conversion and killed her “following a heated debate on religion” the source indicated. The man is currently in custody. There is no indication as to the killer’s identity or the date of the crime except “that the killing happened recently.”The killer works for the mutaween (Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice), an arm of the government that enforces religious purity and is the government’s face of persecution to Christians in Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia is intolerant of Christianity and non-Muslim faiths. Its education curriculum openly inculcates hatred against Christians and other non-Muslims through their textbooks and teachers. The Saudi Arabian officials are using their huge oil wealth to export Wahabbism (the most intolerant version of Islam) to other countries including in the United States. In its recent press release regarding the Saudi government school in Northern Virginia, the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom indicated that, according text books at the school “It is permissible for a Muslim to kill an apostate (a convert from Islam)”.From Ethiopia to Indonesia, Saudi Arabia’s oil money is fueling the killings of Christians and destruction of their property.ICC’s president, Jeff King, said that “Saudi Arabia has to treat Christians with the same respect that it wants Muslims to be treated in other countries. It has to stop exporting hate and persecution against Christians in other countries.”
CONVERT COUPLE ARRESTED, TORTURED, THREATENED in IRAN
Officers seize Christians from their home, leaving ill 4-year-old girl unattended.
Security police officials in Tehran last month tortured a newly converted couple and threatened to put their 4-year-old daughter in an institution after arresting them for holding Bible studies and attending a house church.
A Christian source in Iran said that 28-year-old Tina Rad was charged with “activities against the holy religion of Islam” for reading the Bible with Muslims in her home in east Tehran and trying to convert them. Officials charged her husband, 31-year-old Makan Arya, with “activities against national security” after seizing the couple from their home on June 3, forcing them to leave their 4-year-old daughter ill and unattended.
Authorities kept them in an unknown jail for four days, which left them badly bruised from beatings, with Rad “very ill” and unable to walk, said the source. Rad was released on bail of US$30,000 bail, and her husband was freed on payment of US$20,000.
“The next time there may also be an apostasy charge, if you don’t stop with your Jesus,” a female security police officer told Rad during interrogation, according to the source. Under Iran’s strict Islamic laws, Muslims who convert from Islam to another religion can be executed.
A draft law before the Iranian parliament would make the death penalty mandatory for “apostates” who leave Islam.
“They went to a court hearing just for show,” the source said, “as secret police had already taken their signatures by force with a statement that they had not changed their religion.”
The charges, however, are still open, said the source, a close friend of the couple.
The female security police official warned Rad that if she and her husband continued attending a house church and holding Bible studies, they could be imprisoned “for a very long time” and would lose their daughter, Odzhan Arya. An officer also told Rad that authorities could concoct a drug case against them, “and you will be punished as drug smugglers.”
A male security police official also threatened Rad, who along with her husband received Christ as savior about three months ago, the source said.
“He told Tina during the interrogation that if she doesn’t cooperate and tell some names and addresses, she won’t see her daughter for a long time,” the source said. “They said, ‘Next time if we catch you, you are going to miss your whole family forever.’”
An officer also told Arya that authorities could place his daughter “in a protected religious institution.”
The charge against Arya of “activities against national security” was based on his allowing Bible sessions with Muslims in his apartment and trying to go to the house church, the source said.
Confirmation from the couple’s denomination of their arrest and mistreatment was not immediately available.
Forced Statements
The couple was forced to sign a statement, the source said, that they wouldn’t go back to their house church and that they would have no contact with other Christians – and that if they did, “they will be punished by the law of Islam.”
The charges and forced statements seem to contravene the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, to which Iran is a party, giving it the force of law. Article 18 of the covenant stipulates that everyone shall have the right to adopt a religion or belief, as well as freedom individually or in community in public or private to manifest one’s religion or belief in worship, observance, practice and teaching.
The couple would forfeit their bail and their freedom if secret religious police catch them engaged in Christian activities, they were told in the court before their release.
“They were tortured psychologically and physically,” the source said. “There are a lot of blue places on their bodies. Tina can’t walk well and is very ill, and her husband Makan is still very shocked.”
The couple was arrested after a relative of Arya informed security police of the couple’s Christian activities. According to the friend of the couple, officers confiscated their personal computer, satellite dish and television set, as well as all books, videos, CDs, DVDs and even a photo album.
“Tina is very sick, and because of the pain on the right side of her head from the torture, and the shock of the whole situation, she can’t leave the house and their daughter,” the source said. “She knows for sure that they are monitored in all their communications.”
Societal Hostilities
Following their arrest, the husband and wife also suffered at the hands of family and area Muslims.
In order to make the bail payments, Arya obtained financial help from his father – on the condition that he promise to divorce his wife.
“So he did [promise], and now of course he refuses to divorce,” the source said. “So his father gave him an ultimatum. There is discrimination even in the family against them.”
Rad, Makan Arya, daughter Odzhan
After their release, the couple found the window of their clothing shop had been smashed.
“Almost the whole street knows about them, so imagine how difficult their business is,” said the source. “They want to change the shop and go somewhere else. Every day and night they get some calls from unknown people, and their life at this moment is under invisible and visible surveillance.”
On Monday (June 23) Arya received letters at both the clothing shop and his home stating that he must place evidence on his new window pane indicating his Islamic faith by displaying a statement and photos, or else he would have to buy a new window every day.
The source said Arya displayed a photo of Islamic leaders on the window, “but they want to go somewhere else.”
Arya went to area police asking for protection, the source said, “but they told him not to lie and to ‘go do something about it if you are a real believer of Islam.’”

Zambia’s ‘born-again’ president Levy Mwanawasa dies at 59
The Zambian president, Levy Mwanawasa, a committed Christian died in France on Monday, August 19, nearly two months after suffering a stroke during an African Union conference. He was 59.

According to media reports, doctors at the Percy military hospital near Paris had performed emergency surgery on Mwanawasa Sunday following a sharp deterioration in his condition. Though the operation was initially described as successful, Zambian state television broke the news of the death this morning.
“Fellow countrymen, with deep sorrow and grief, I would like to inform the people of Zambia that our president Dr Levy Patrick Mwanawasa died this morning at 1030 hours,” said the vice-president, Rupiah Banda. “I also wish to inform the nation that national mourning starts today and will be for seven days.”Banda will take over as acting president until elections, expected to be held within 90 days.
“A former lawyer, Mwanawasa was regarded as one of the Africa's most progressive leaders,” said the Guardian newspaper in the UK. “His efforts to tackle corruption helped win Zambia widespread debt relief. Under his leadership, Zambia's economy grew at 5%, helped by the buoyant copper price, while inflation dropped to the lowest level in three decades. Mwanawasa freely admitted, however, that the benefits had not trickled down sufficiently to the poor.
“Beyond Zambia, he became best known as a vocal - and rare - African critic of the Zimbabwean president, Robert Mugabe, leading to strained relations between the southern African neighbors.”
Leading the tributes, the French president, Nicolas Sarkozy, described Mwanawasa's death as “a great loss for the African continent.”
The President’s baptism
The baptism of President Levy Mwanawasa, caused a sensation back in 2005 when he gave his life to Christ and, as President of Zambia, was baptized at local Baptist church in Lusaka, the country’s capital city.
This was revealed in a story from Michael Ireland in ANS who wrote, “A crowd clapped and cheered as President Levy Mwanawasa rose from the water in an outdoor baptistery behind a Baptist seminary chapel building in Lusaka, Zambia’s capital.”
The event drew hundreds of people, including public officials, leaders and pastors from the area and neighboring countries, wrote Shawn Hendricks of the Southern Baptist Church International Mission Board.
“This baptism was an incredible occasion for the Baptist witness to many people who we have not had in church before,” said Troy Lewis, a Southern Baptist missionary in the southern African nation of more than 10 million people. “They heard the gospel of Jesus Christ.”
Hendricks says on the day of his baptism, Mwanawasa shared his spiritual journey before a packed chapel service. He told listeners he had been “struck” by Jesus—similar to the Apostle Paul’s experience on the road to Damascus. Mwanawasa, a successful lawyer and former vice president, took office in 2002. Respected for his reputation for honesty, he was known as “Mr. Integrity” even by his political opponents before his election. Now in his mid-50s, he survived a near-fatal car accident in 1992 but insists he is in excellent health, Hendricks writes.
He reported that Mwanawasa remembers attending a Baptist school as a boy, but his relationship with Christ began to transform when he started attending Twin Palm Baptist Church in Lusaka in 2003. The small church meets at the Baptist Theological Seminary of Zambia in Lusaka.
As he came week after week with his “entourage,” the church tried to maintain business as usual—but it wasn’t easy, Hendricks writes.
“All of us here were immensely excited about this,” Lewis told him. “Our excitement and prayers increased when he returned to church again and kept coming whenever he was in the country.”
Hendricks said the president began asking questions about the Christian faith and how he could join the church. Church members answered his questions and ministered to him during difficult times.

After Mwanawasa began attending the church, his mother died from injuries caused by a fire. He also lost his two brothers. One died unexpectedly of illness; the other was murdered, said Hendricks.
Mwanawasa soon shared how Christ had moved in his life—and that he wanted to be baptized. Franklin Kilpatrick, missionary in Zambia for 35 years, helped disciple Mwanawasa during this process. Kilpatrick and his wife, Paula, are members of Twin Palm Baptist Church.
“The impact is not just in Zambia; this could have an impact on an international level,” said Kilpatrick, who is temporarily on U.S. assignment. “He could impact a lot of leaders. He is in a position of influence, and people need encouragement.”
The Kilpatricks were originally concerned about drawing too much attention to the event. Local missionaries tried to remain low-key about Mwanawasa’s decision, Hendricks reported.
But the news quickly spread all over Zambia—and to other parts of the world. Others have commented on how the president’s life has changed. He already has invited friends and leaders from around the world to attend church with him. Paula Kilpatrick is excited about what God has planned for the future. “We feel like the story is not over,” she said.
A few months back, I was about to interview Mrs. Maureen Mwanawasa, the First Lady of Zambia who stated that her country has become a “Christian nation.”
At last November’s 3rd Annual Global Summit on AIDS and the Church held at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California, hosted by Pastor Rick Warren and his wife, Kay, I asked the first lady, a Christian, like her husband, President Levy Mwanawasa, what role the church in Zambia was playing in the battle against HIV and AIDS.
She replied, “The church is one of the biggest helpers of government in the fight against HIV/AIDS. We have the churches association of Zambia which is looking after the interests of the church as far as AIDS is concerned. It gets support from government. The church’s organization has its own health centers which they run. So the Christian faith in the country is very strong.
“Actually our country was declared a Christian nation, so you can see how spiritual everyone is and how dependent we are on God for an answer to the challenge.”

Foreign missionaries defy ban during Olympics
Christian groups who flouted a Chinese ban on foreign missionaries are calling their underground evangelizing during the Olympic Games a success.
Drawn to a nation of 1.3 billion people under atheist rule, the groups prepared for years for what the Southern Baptists once called "a spiritual harvest unlike any other."
"We did see some conversions," said Christian missionary Mark Taylor of Pensacola, Fla.
For Taylor, planning began four years ago with a lunch at the Athens Games among his Florida-based Awaken Generation ministry and ones from other countries. In the ensuing years, they came to China as tourists, making contacts among local Chinese.
Taylor — who leaves China on Friday — said 115 people from 12 countries gathered in Thailand for orientation before scattering throughout China, from Tibet through the far northeast. Two groups worked in Beijing, he said, though he would not give details.
Other larger efforts were carried out by the U.S.-based Southern Baptist Convention and the international ministry Youth With A Mission, Christian groups told The Associated Press. Neither ministry could say how many people were sent in.
China tried to keep out foreign missionaries before the Olympics. It kicked out more than 100 suspected missionaries last summer, according to a U.S. monitoring group, the China Aid Association. China's intelligence services made lists of potentially troublesome evangelical Christians, and authorities tightened visa measures ahead of the games.
Even the Rev. Franklin Graham, son of the evangelist Billy Graham, said during a visit to China this year that he did not support illegal missionary work during the Olympics.
Taylor and other groups knew the risks.
"It's very difficult," said the 27-year-old Taylor, who on Wednesday explored the Olympic Green with six other team members, one as young as 15, after finishing their mission. "It's got to be through relationships. Handing out (religious) tracts would not go over well at all. That would be like me walking around with a 'Free Tibet' flag."
Instead, the Christians came in on tourist visas and said they were involved in sports or cultural activities, which China allows. Taylor's group renovated a school in Yunnan province. Members then reached out to Chinese in one-on-one conversations.
In response to a phone request by the AP, China's religious affairs administration office issued a statement Thursday referring to Chinese law.
"If foreigners do such things in China, they violate the law, and local religious departments and other departments should stop them," the statement said.
It did not say how many foreigners had been caught doing missionary work during the Olympics.
Olympics efforts among Christian groups were coordinated in 2006, when major ministries held a conference in Thailand, said the Rev. Johnny Li, minister-at-large for Open Doors, an advocacy group for persecuted Christians. He said a DVD was distributed encouraging cooperation among groups.
One of the most active ministries during the Olympics was Youth With A Mission, or YWAM, which sent in groups from around the world. One group of Thai Christians went to Yunnan province this month and danced to Thai-language Christian music in coffee shops and restaurants.
"They looked for opportunities to talk to the locals and share about their faith," said Sam Sarvis, YWAM's national director in Thailand. After the first week, authorities told the group there was a ban on performances by foreigners, so the Thais went to nearby villages and met people one-on-one.
"Our goal was wanting to communicate the love of God to people, not be overt," Sarvis said.
One Christian group made headlines this week when Chinese authorities confiscated 315 Chinese-language Bibles found in their checked luggage when they arrived in the southwestern city of Kunming from Thailand.
A member of the Wyoming-based Vision Beyond Borders group said they wanted to give the Bibles to their "brothers and sisters." Chinese law forbids bringing in religious products for more than personal use.
"It was almost like they were treating us like criminals," member Pat Klein said by telephone as the group prepared to return to Thailand with the Bibles. He said the group was followed during its stay in China. "We thought we'd stay away from Beijing. We honestly didn't come here to cause trouble."
The subject of Olympics outreach was touchy for some groups.
"No comment," said a woman who answered the phone at Athletes in Action, the sports ministry of the Campus Crusade for Christ. She then hung up.
However, a spokesman for the Missouri-based Fellowship of Christian Athletes was happy to talk about outreach efforts within the Olympic Village by its athletes, including American marathon runner Ryan Hall.
Athletes stepped up to lead their own prayer groups or Bible studies after the Chinese said they would assign chaplains to the village's religious services center instead of allowing teams to bring in their own, said Dan Britton, the fellowship's senior vice president of ministries.
"It's a very unique situation," he said. "When you assign a chaplain, it's almost like saying, `We're bringing a team to China and assigning the coach.' Well, the coach doesn't know the players and only knows the sport. We feel the spiritual realm is the same way."
One outreach success came ahead of the Olympics, when a U.S. team was in China for an exhibition match. The U.S. team and the Chinese team — Britton wouldn't name the sport — gathered in a hotel room the night before the match for a 30-minute prayer meeting arranged by a foreigner who had access to the Chinese team.
"It was very powerful," said Britton, who said he had seen photos of the meeting, where members of both teams prayed and sang. "God pulled it together."

Bishop arrested in rape, murder and drinking human blood
Police in Naivasha have arrested a Church Minister implicated in alleged incidents of rape, torture and drinking human blood.
New Hope for All Nations Church Bishop Jeremiah Paragyo (25yrs) was arrested Thursday morning after a suspect believed to be a serial killer and rapist claimed he had requested him to secure some human blood for him.
Shocked residents thronged the Naivasha police station including worshipers at the bishop's church, expressing disbelief at the happenings of the last one week in the town.
Journalists also had a hectic time trying to catch a glimpse of the man implicated by the suspect, Geoffrey Njoroge Matheri in the gruesome rape, torture and murder in the town.
However a shocked Bishop Paragyo told the reporters that his detractors were trying to malign him in public.
Speaking while being led to the police cells Paragyo said that he had been called by the CID officers to record a statement after being adversely mentioned by the leader of a street gang who is suspected to have raped several women, abducting them and killing others.
Naivasha acting OCPD Paul Kisang' told the press that they were holding Bishop Paragyo for interrogations after he was mentioned as an accomplice of Matheri.
Kisang' said the Bishop would remain in police custody to shed more light on the saga that has left many people reeling in shock and disbelief.
Earlier police arrested 15 street urchins after they were implicated in the serial rape and murder.
Matheri is claimed to have confessed to the security forces in Naivasha that he drunk human blood but sold the body parts to members of a religious cult.
On Wednesday, police exhumed the body of a woman found in the suspect's house at Kihoto estate with some parts missing.
He was arrested over the weekend after two women were rescued from his house where he had held them for a week, raping and torturing them.
When word went round that the Bishop had been allegedly involved in the bizarre acts of drinking human blood which the suspect was supplying him at the church, the Naivasha resident s threatened to burn the mega church but police were called in and managed to turn the mob away.
There was also heavy security at the Bishop's home as irate members of the public camped at the venue threatening to burn the

If you don't feel like you're getting the love you should get, then maybe you should ask yourself if you're giving the love you should give.
Shalom and Praise the Lord!
Too often we look only at what other people are doing for us instead of what we are doing for them. However, the Bible instructs us to look out for the needs of one another, to look for ways to serve others, and to walk in love with each other.
In John 13:34-35, Jesus commands us to love: "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
Love is so important, because every person needs love. People in the world are hungry for love; they're looking for a source of real, genuine love. Proverbs 19:22 tells us that What a man desires is unfailing love.
We, as Christians, have an opportunity to give that love, which the world desperately desires. So instead of wondering why you're not getting the love you should get, decide to give the love you should give.
God Bless you abundantly,

If you're too busy to spend time with God, then you're simply too busy.
Shalom and Praise the Lord!
In the world we live in today, it is very easy to get so incredibly caught up in all of the demands that culture places on us that we don't have any time to spend with God.
However, the fact that so many things compete for every person's time isn't new to the world. Indeed, in Luke 10:38-42, we see the story of how two people responded to this same problem in two very different ways: As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. ...
We see that after Jesus entered the home, He evidently started teaching, and Mary, Martha's sister, stopped what she was doing and listened to Jesus. It's important to realize that Mary didn't know Jesus was coming, and so it certainly wasn't her plan to stop what she was doing and sit at His feet, listening to Him. However, Mary considered hearing from God so important that she altered her schedule to spend time with God.
... But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!" Here, we see that Martha responded very differently than her sister: she became really busy and caught up in what she was doing -- probably preparing a meal, cleaning the house, or something similar.
When Martha complained to Jesus about how Mary was using her time, Jesus responded: "Martha, Martha, ... you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her."
One sister was willing to drop everything in order to hear from God; the other was too busy with everyday life in order to spend time with God. Jesus makes it clear that the way Mary chose to use her time was better.
In your life, you need to be willing to use your time like Mary did. Don't let little things steal your time away from what's really important in life. You must realize that there is no lasting value to the "urgent" things many people often allow to interfere with what's truly important. It would not have mattered if Martha hadn't cleaned the house that day.
You need to be willing to let your schedule be altered if knowing God better requires it. Don't be like Martha and get so caught up in life's distractions that you miss Jesus.
Do not be too busy, Amen?
Be blessed.

You Can't Keep The Birds From Flying Over Your Head
You Can't Keep The Birds From Flying Over Your Head, But You Can Sure Keep Them From Building A Nest In Your Hair!
The Devil is always on the job, tempting us to disobey the Lord. And though nobody can keep temptation from coming, we don't have to yield to temptation. God gives us enough sense by His Spirit to know the difference between what is good & what is bad, then He gives us a choice between good & evil, Himself & the Devil. The Devil cannot prevent us from choosing. That's the one thing we can do no matter what the Devil does -- we can ! We each have a will, & we can ignore him! "Submit yourself to God, resist the Devil, & he will flee from you!" (Jam.4:7)
It is impossible for the Devil to win over you unless you give in to him, for "greater is He that is in you than he that is in the World!" (1Jn.4:4) The only way he can win is if you quit, give up, give in, surrender or stop fighting. If you keep fighting you keep winning! So when the Devil tempts you to get down & discouraged, fight! Slam the door in his face & don't even listen to him!--Much less surrender! Then you won't have a chance to listen to or believe his lies!"
"Give no place to the Devil!" (Eph.4:27) Hallelujah!
Much blessings,
Frank Lema.

ALIYEKUWA AMEKUFA APATIKANA AKIWA HAI!!

JESUS WAS WRONG!
Today through reading various scriptures and people’s criticism against our Lord Jesus, I came across one from many criticisms which hearkened my heart and would like to find out from our understanding of the bible and in particular words that Jesus uttered during His days on earth. Has Jesus ever been wrong in HIS words? For example, when He said on three occasions in the New Testament (Matthew Chapter 16:28; Mark Chapter 9:1; and Luke Chapter 9:27), we read that Jesus promised people standing around him that some would not taste death before he comes with his kingdom. They argue that EVERY ONE OF THEM DIED, proving him to be a false prophet. They add that the real messiah will come, and he will resolve all the differences between the faiths. Can this be true?

karibuni wapendwa tujengane kiroho.
Bwana Yesu asifiwe.
Mungu azidi kuwabariki, asante.

Son of top Hamas leader converts to Christianity
'I hope my father and family open their eyes to Jesus and the Kingdom of God'
"I know that I'm endangering my life and am even liable to lose my father, but I hope that he'll understand this and that God will give him and my family patience and willingness to open their eyes to Jesus and to Christianity. Maybe one day I'll be able to return to Palestine and to Ramallah with Jesus, in the Kingdom of God," Masab said.
Masab said he previously aided his father with Hamas activities, but he now has affection for Israel and laments Hamas.
JERUSALEM – The son of one of the most popular leaders in the Hamas terrorist organization has moved to the U.S. and converted to Christianity, it has emerged.
In an exclusive interview with Israel's Haaretz newspaper, Masab Yousuf, son of West Bank Hamas leader Sheik Hassan Yousef, slammed Hamas, praised Israel and said he hoped his terrorist father will open his eyes to Jesus and to Christianity.
"Send regards to Israel, I miss it. I respect Israel and admire it as a country," he says.
"You Jews should be aware: You will never, but never have peace with Hamas. Islam, as the ideology that guides them, will not allow them to achieve a peace agreement with the Jews. They believe that tradition says that the Prophet Muhammed fought against the Jews and that therefore they must continue to fight them to the death."
Masab slammed Palestinian society as "an entire society [that] sanctifies death and the suicide terrorists. In Palestinian culture a suicide terrorist becomes a hero, a martyr. Sheiks tell their students about the 'heroism of the shaheeds.'"
Masab's father is considered the most popular Hamas figure in the West Bank. He is serving a sentence in Israel for planning or involvement in multiple terror attacks, including an infamous 2002 suicide bombing in the school cafeteria of Jerusalem's Hebrew University in which nine students and staff members were killed.
In a statement to the Palestinian Maan news agency, Masab's brother, Suhaib, strongly denied that Masab converted to Christianity.
But Haaretz stood by its story. The newspaper said it sent a correspondent to the U.S., who met with Masab for a detailed, in-person interview.
